Colliers International (NASDAQ, TSX: CIGI), a renowned commercial real estate services and investment management firm, has announced the relocation of its Gainesville, Florida headquarters to a new, larger office space in the Gainesville Innovation District to accommodate continued business growth.

The Gainesville branch of the internationally-acclaimed real estate company was established just 18 months ago in early 2019 and has already developed a strong reputation in the local market as a top provider of professional real estate services. The move stems from the business’s need for additional office space as it anticipates bringing on new team members and expanding its services for clients in the Gainesville area.

The Colliers team moved from their previous office space, located off of Northwest 43rd Street, to a standalone building at 107 Southwest 7th Street in the heart of the Innovation District. The building, which is 1,910 square feet and features two floors of office space, is seventy percent larger than the company’s previous workplace, allowing room for a rising headcount. The building’s mix of open work space and private offices will also better facilitate internal and external communication and promote company collaboration.

“This increase in square footage gives us the space we need to operate at peak efficiency and also room to expand in the future,” said Christian Oldenberg, managing director for Colliers’ North Florida region, which comprises of the firm’s Jacksonville and Gainesville offices.

In addition to providing essential room for growth, the Colliers team also cited the building’s prime location in the Innovation District as a strategic advantage and one of the primary reasons for its selection.

“We liked the building’s proximity to the University of Florida and downtown,” said Oldenberg. “The office is also close to many of our listings and clients, as well as walking distance to restaurants and entertainment options.”

Colliers joins over 80 other companies located in the Innovation District, which is home to popular hotspots such as the 4th Avenue Food Park and the upcoming Midpoint Park and Eatery, a food park and event venue set to open in in Spring 2021. The new office is also less than one mile from both the UF campus and downtown Gainesville.

John Fleming, managing partner of office developer Trimark Properties and strategic partner in the Innovation District development, expressed his excitement with the notable real estate firm joining the area.

“An active and robust real estate industry is essential to the growth of Gainesville, so it’s wonderful to see the work the Colliers Team is doing to facilitate exciting developments and bring new companies to the city,” said Fleming. “We’re pleased that they have chosen to be a part of the Innovation District and look forward to seeing their local presence continue to grow in their new location.”

The Colliers Team occupied their new space this past September.
